Abstract

This article examines the influence of psychological factors that lead to domestic violence (DV) against women using a literature study method. The research found that domestic violence is a complex issue, influenced by various psychological factors such as past trauma, power imbalance in the relationship, unhealthy relationship dynamics, mental health disorders, influence of parenting patterns, and emotional or financial dependence. Domestic violence (DV) is not only limited to physical violence, but also includes psychological, sexual, and economic violence, all of which can cause deep suffering to the victim. This article emphasises the importance of a comprehensive approach to preventing and addressing domestic violence, including public education on healthy relationships, support for victims, strict law enforcement against perpetrators, and intervention programmes to change harmful behaviours. It is hoped that the results of this study will provide a deeper understanding of the causes of domestic violence and help formulate effective strategies to address the problem.
